Nashville hot chicken, 30 Elm Row, Edinburgh
Buttermilk-brined chicken, hand-dredged and fried the moment you order. Pick your heat, load your fries and finish with a Biscoff shake.
Our story
Nashville spent a century perfecting hot chicken. Manni's was born at the top of Leith Walk.
Every piece of chicken we serve is brined in buttermilk, dredged by hand and dropped into the fryer only once you have ordered it. No heat lamps, no holding trays, no shortcuts.
The heat is yours to choose, from an honest plain fry right through to full Nashville, lacquered in cayenne and served with pickles to take the edge off. Then load it onto fries, stack it in a burger or pile it over spiced rice.
What we do
It all starts with the same chicken. Where it goes from there is up to you.

In the kitchen
The crust is the whole point.
We dredge by hand, a piece at a time, so the crust catches and shatters the way it should. Into clean oil, out golden, straight into the tray and out to you.
The sauces are made here too: the Nashville glaze, the hot honey, the buffalo, and the ranch that puts the fire back out.
The shop
We are at 30 Elm Row, right at the top of Leith Walk: dark booths, marble tables and the fryer going from two in the afternoon.
Eat in, take it away, or let us bring it to you.
